Saints’ Josh Hill, Dontari Poe, Kenny Vaccaro face injury charges
Saints tight end Josh Hill and linebacker Kenny Vaccarro have been arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor hit-wrestling, according to an arrest affidavit.
Hill, 24, and Vaccaro, 27, were booked into the Orleans Parish Correctional Center on Saturday night.
The arrest affidavit says that Hill “was involved in an altercation at a nightclub that resulted in him being struck by a vehicle, sustaining multiple injuries and a minor head injury.”
The Saints issued a statement Saturday night saying the arrests are being investigated by the NFL’s Office of the Professional Football Officiating.
The statement said the club where the arrests were made has been notified.
Hill was placed on injured reserve and Vaccarro was suspended for the season.
Both players are from the New Orleans area.
Both were placed on paid administrative leave, according the Saints.
The Saints are scheduled to hold their season opener on Sunday at Detroit.
Hill and Vaccarro are the only Saints players to have been suspended in their career.
They were placed onto IR in the offseason for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
